.fr and AFNIC French Domains Specific Terms

These terms apply in addition to the Domain Name Registration and Management Terms whenever the ordered extension is .fr, .re, .pm, .tf, .wf or .yt.

1. Registry and incorporated rules

These extensions are administered by AFNIC. The registrant acknowledges and accepts the current AFNIC Naming Policy and terms subject to prior review and the current Netim special conditions for French domain names (CP-ND-FR). Those official rules are incorporated by reference and control registry operations.

2. Eligibility and continuing accuracy

The holder and any contact whose location is required by the registry must satisfy the territorial eligibility rules applicable on the date of the request and throughout the registration. The registrant must provide complete, accurate and verifiable identity and contact data and respond to any AFNIC or registrar verification request. A trustee or local-contact service is used only when it is expressly included in the order.

3. Rights, reserved names and prior review

The registrant represents that the requested name and its intended use comply with applicable law and do not infringe third-party rights. First-come, first-served allocation does not override protected rights. AFNIC may subject reserved or regulated terms to prior review, request evidence, reject an application or take action under its naming and dispute policies.

4. Technical and operational requirements

Nameservers and DNS configuration must satisfy the registry's technical requirements when AFNIC requires a zone check. Registration, transfer, holder change, DNS change, renewal and restoration are complete only after confirmation by AFNIC and the registrar.

5. Transfers and holder changes

An incoming registrar transfer requires the valid authorisation code and any confirmation required by AFNIC. The registrant authorises Silurian to submit the transfer through Netim using the existing domain-holder data. A change of holder is a separate operation and may require approval by both the current and future holder within a registry deadline.

6. Renewal, deletion and restoration

Failure to renew before the applicable cut-off can lead to deletion and a limited redemption period. Restoration is not guaranteed and may require an additional fee. The Customer must act within the earlier deadline shown by Silurian or the registrar.

7. Changes to official rules

AFNIC and Netim may update their mandatory rules independently of Silurian. The version in force when an operation is submitted applies. If a material new condition requires a separate instruction or acceptance, Silurian may pause the operation until it is provided.
